316 / 316L stainless steel plate
316/316L stainless steel plate belongs to the austenitic stainless
steel family and is the most widely used stainless steel plate
variety. 316 grade has a higher nickel content than 304 grade,
making it more corrosion resistant than 304 grade. 316/316L sheet
has good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and is ideal for
marine applications. 316L is a lower carbon variant of the 316
grade.

Stainless Steel 316/316L (UNS S31600/S31603) is a
chromium-nickel-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel that offers
higher corrosion resistance than 304/304L Stainless Steel in
moderately corrosive environments. It is commonly used in process
streams containing chlorides or halides. Adding molybdenum to 316
stainless steel plate can improve general corrosion and chloride
pitting resistance. It also provides higher creep strength, stress
at break and tensile strength at elevated temperatures.
Stainless steel sheet 316/316L resists atmospheric corrosion, and
moderately oxidizing and reducing environments. It also resists
corrosion in polluted marine atmospheres. The alloy has excellent
resistance to intergranular corrosion in the welded state.

301L: On the basis of 301 steel, reduce the C content and improve

content to ensure the strength of the steel. Uses: Railway vehicle
frame and exterior decoration materials.
304: As a widely used steel, it has good corrosion resistance, heat
resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties; it
has good hot workability such as stamping and bending, and has no
heat treatment hardening phenomenon (non-magnetic, operating
temperature -196℃~ 800°C). Uses: medical appliances, building
materials, chemicals, ship parts, auto parts, food industry,
household goods (tableware, cabinets, indoor pipelines, water
heaters, bathtubs, etc.), agriculture.
304L: As a low-C 304 steel, its corrosion resistance is similar to
that of 304 steel under normal conditions, but after welding or
stress relief, its resistance to intergranular corrosion is
excellent; it can also resist corrosion without heat treatment.
Maintain good corrosion resistance, use temperature -196°C~800°C.
Uses: Applied to field and open-air machines in the chemical, coal
and petroleum industries that require high resistance to grain
boundary corrosion, heat-resistant parts of building materials and
parts that are difficult to heat treat.
316L: As a low C series of 316 steel, in addition to having the
same characteristics as 316 steel, it has excellent resistance to
intergranular corrosion. Uses: In the corrosive medium containing
chloride ions, it has higher corrosion resistance than 304 and
304L. Suitable for seawater desalination and water industry.
321: Ti element is added to 304 steel to prevent grain boundary
corrosion; suitable for use at a temperature of 430°C-900°C. Uses:
aircraft, exhaust pipes, boiler drums.
